Soar Valley H C withdraw from Bodykraft League
Soar Valley have given notice that as of 1st November 2007 they are withdrawing their two league teams from the
BodyKraft League - and as a direct consequence the results of all league games already played will be expunged.
Any Soar Valley club members wishing to join other clubs, are reminded that they MUST formally transfer
their allegiance under League Rule 9 "Transfers".
'Long Pile Turf' Astro pitches will NOT be used ...
The MRHA Council met recently and considered the use of LPT's [Long Pile Turf - rubber crumb] pitches for hockey.
The outcome was that, with immediate effect, LPT's should NOT be used for competitive MRHA hockey. The full text

IMPORTANT - Handbook Errors and Changes - 2007/08 (last update 8 Jan 2008)
As new handbooks are circulated you may well spot a few errors or omissions - hopefully very few.
One major update of note - P11 AND p23 rule 18.5 - the email address for all 1st XI fixture results and scorers is once again
incorrect ! (Sorry Nicola..) The address for Nicola Russell has not changed from last year - and remains as
nicola-russell @ rfumidlands.demon.co.uk - full details to Nicola by Tuesday noon please.
If you spot any other mistakes please let us know .... we will be happy to post corrections - but please be aware
that any address details or phone numbers you post will be available to ALL viewers....

Additionally - all clubs are reminded that the best way to get up-to-date umpires contact numbers is NOT using
the Handbook, but using the umpiring website www.mrhua.org.uk
- where you can switch to EMHUA, and/or click the appropriate 'contacts list' button
for an alphabetical list of all MRHUA, BCHUA and EMHUA umpires.
Play the Match - a reminder
If you cancel a match because your team is short of players the match is awarded 3-0 to your opponents
and you forfeit 3 points. However the League Committee has decided that you may bring in players
from your other teams, even if they have already played or will be playing later, and play the
match as a friendly. You will still have the match awarded to your opponents 3-0 but you
will not forfeit 3 points.
If you decide you wish to play you must inform your opponents that you will be forfeiting the
game and they will be awarded a 3-0 win.
By playing this friendly two teams and two umpires will get a game instead of missing out for
two weeks, two clubs will get match tax income, the pitch hire will be paid and the home side gets some bar income.
